a premier event
The 1000 Islands Regatta & Festival is back for its 9 consecutive year in Brockville and will once again be host to one of the nation’s premier hydroplane boat races on the majestic St. Lawrence River. This summer’s 9th annual “1000 Islands Regatta & Festival” takes place on Thursday June 30th to Sunday July 3rd at Blockhouse Island and will see many marked additions from last year. 2016 marks 66 years of hydroplane racing in Brockville and that rich history will be celebrated with a static display of vintage hydroplanes on Blockhouse Island. There will be upwards of 95 hydroplane race teams in town for the Regatta featuring boats from as far as Louisiana, Ohio, Florida, Delaware, Quebec and 4 local racers from right here in Brockville competing for the top trophies including our “Best Local Racer” trophy.
In addition to the high-speed action on the water, there will be loads of family entertainment for all ages including musical entertainment from national and local acts as well as a kid’s zone featuring bouncy castles, slides, face painting, water games and activities for children of all ages. Kids 12 and under will be FREE the entire weekend. The kid’s zone will serve to entertain kids with bouncy castles and other childrens activities, This will create a true family atmosphere.
